Yet transforming this information into concrete, coherent, and strategic decisions remains a major challenge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is precisely where \u201cdecision science\u201d applied to public health comes into play.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today, decision-makers must navigate an increasingly complex environment<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>data proliferation;<\/li>\n<li>budget constraints;<\/li>\n<li>public health emergencies;<\/li>\n<li>new technologies;<\/li>\n<li>the public's growing expectations;<\/li>\n<li>and pressure to demonstrate the actual impact of health care investments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this context, simply having data is no longer enough. It is becoming essential to know:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>what data to use;<\/li>\n<li>how to interpret them;<\/li>\n<li>how to deal with uncertainty;<\/li>\n<li>and how to translate scientific evidence into operational decisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Decision science draws on several complementary disciplines:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>epidemiology;<\/li>\n<li>biostatistics;<\/li>\n<li>health economics;<\/li>\n<li>risk-benefit assessment;<\/li>\n<li>modeling;<\/li>\n<li>real-world data;<\/li>\n<li>regulatory science.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In particular, it allows you to:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>to improve the prioritization of interventions;<\/li>\n<li>to optimize resource allocation;<\/li>\n<li>to inform vaccination policies;<\/li>\n<li>to support regulatory decisions;<\/li>\n<li>and strengthen health systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In sub-Saharan Africa, the need for assistance in this area is becoming particularly acute due to:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>the introduction of new vaccines;<\/li>\n<li>an increase in performance-based funding;<\/li>\n<li>the development of regulatory authorities;<\/li>\n<li>and the need to generate more local data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At CEHPI, we believe that the future of African health systems will increasingly depend on structured decision-making approaches that are grounded in robust evidence and tailored to local realities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this in mind, CEHPI conducts research, provides consulting services, and offers training aimed at strengthening the analytical and decision-making capabilities of healthcare professionals and institutions.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dans de nombreux syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9, les donn\u00e9es existent, les rapports s\u2019accumulent et les indicateurs sont produits r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement.
