Over the past several decades, they have prevented millions of deaths, significantly reduced child mortality, and protected populations against many preventable infectious diseases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The theme of the 2026 edition \u2014\u00a0<i><em>\u201cFor every generation, vaccines work\u201d<\/em><\/i>\u00a0\u2014 highlights the intergenerational role of vaccination. The benefits of vaccines extend beyond children; they also protect adolescents, adults, and older adults, while strengthening the overall resilience of health systems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite these major advances, several challenges remain. In many countries, vaccination systems face:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>service interruptions;<\/li>\n<li>inequalities in access;<\/li>\n<li>the spread of misinformation;<\/li>\n<li>and a decline in confidence in vaccines in certain communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In many parts of the world, including Africa, these challenges have contributed to the resurgence of preventable diseases such as measles and polio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Building trust in vaccines today requires much more than simply making vaccines available. It involves:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>clear, evidence-based communication;<\/li>\n<li>a better understanding of community concerns;<\/li>\n<li>strategic use of data;<\/li>\n<li>and close collaboration between health authorities, technical partners, and communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At CEHPI, we believe that evidence and community trust must go hand in hand.
